The Anglican Church of South Sudan and Sudan have welcomed a new chapter in its leadership following the retirement of Archbishop Abraham Mayom Athian Deng as Primate and the election of Archbishop Abednego Lueth Dongrin as his successor.<\/p>\n

The leadership transition comes as the church continues its religious and social mission across South Sudan and Sudan, where it has an extensive presence comprising 52 dioceses, six provinces, and 48 bishops, according to information provided by the church.<\/p>\n

Archbishop Abednego Lueth Dongrin takes over leadership of the church at a time when unity, peacebuilding, and reconciliation remain important priorities for communities in the two countries.<\/p>\n

The new Primate is expected to work closely with bishops, clergy, church administrators, and congregations to strengthen cooperation among dioceses and provinces and advance the church\u2019s spiritual mission.<\/p>\n
