{"id":6571,"date":"2022-06-10T13:25:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-10T13:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=6571"},"modified":"2022-06-10T06:37:07","modified_gmt":"2022-06-10T06:37:07","slug":"iiw-ss-launches-private-sector-business-window","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/10\/iiw-ss-launches-private-sector-business-window\/","title":{"rendered":"IIW-SS launches private sector business window"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"767\" src=\"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Women-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Women-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Women-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Women-768x575.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Women.jpg 1431w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>SS launches private sector business window dubbed investing in Women in South Sudan\/Photo by Matia Samuel Timatio<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By Tereza Jeremiah Chuei<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investing in Women in South Sudan (IIW-SS) project has launched in Juba for the competition of private sector business window yesterday, and it\u2019s being implemented in Central Equatoria State Juba and Eastern Equatoria State Torit towns respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme aims to economically empower women in the agricultural sector through selected value chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project also seek to enhance women\u2019s economic empowerment through production and sale of honey, sorghum, sesame, Shea nut and groundnut and value chains in South Sudan to increase incomes, and reduce climate risks to transform livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investing in Women in South Sudan (IIW-SS) is a gender equality and economic&nbsp; &nbsp;inclusion programme implemented by the AECF with funding from global Affairs Canada (GAC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While, its objective is to reduce gender-specific barriers to women\u2019s participation in agriculture value chains to increased adoption in agricultural practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the head of Agribusiness-AECF Sebastian Wanjala, said that beneficiaries are going to be women in agricultural value chains of focus, adding that IIW-SS aim to directly benefit 6,000 smallholder farmers\u2019 households (36,000 persons), with 80 percent being women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cthe AECF is the world\u2019s largest challenge fund and we have perfected this model to identify unique and innovative business ideas that have impacted, we will use this challenge fund model to select investees that offer innovative solutions in the target value chains, the model is going to selects investees through a competition process that provides fair and equal access to available funding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tereza Jeremiah Chuei Investing in Women in South Sudan (IIW-SS) project has launched in Juba for the competition of private sector business window yesterday, and it\u2019s being implemented in Central Equatoria State Juba and Eastern Equatoria State Torit towns respectively.
