The Minister of Information Communication and Postal Service, Micheal Makuei Lueth has called on government officials to unite and annihilate tribalism which splits the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Makuei made this remarks during the swearing in ceremony of Deputy Governors of Jonglei and Upper Nile States including the Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area in Juba yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the gathering, Makuei said during the liberation time they don\u2019t have the ailment called tribalism which now ragged the country apart, urging his party members to eliminate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a disease that we stamped on when we came to Juba here and that\u2019s tribalism, that disease must be fought. When we were in liberation struggle there was nothing calls tribalism,\u201d Makuei asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat is how we succeeded to liberate South Sudan But with tribalism now we are divided and SPLM is at risk of collapse simply because of this disease calls tribalism. It must be fought; it must be fought and brought to an end,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also called on the newly appointed officials to unite people as well as maintains peace and harmony in their respective States in order to help in attaining objectives of the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Makuei said SPLM party has been fighting with itself stressing that those leaders of political parties or movements were ex-SPLM members and urged the newly sworn in leaders to start bringing some of them back to the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo, your duty number one is to make sure people in your State and administrative areas are united and especially [bring former] the followers of SPLM so that we follow the vision and mission of the SPLM,\u201d he reiterated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Information Minister and prominent member of SPLM also urged the youth in the States to work hard to bring oneness for different arms of government in the States such as executive and legislative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou (leaders) need to maintain peace and harmony between the people of your respective states and administrative areas because there is no peace in those places and without peace there is no development\u201d Makuei added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo, you need to bring peace harmonize, [and] unite your people bring peace so that we move together in pursuance of our objective and that cannot come [true] if unity is not there,\u201d Makuei hinted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
