Mundri West town of Western Equatoria State is facing demolition threat amid Juba-Mundri Highway construction, as team of surveyors travelled to assess the area ahead of road clearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team of surveyors met with Mundri West County Commissioner, Zilipha Dawa and discussed issues related to surveying mission and the design of highway construction plan that passes through the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineer Bus Joseph, for Save the Nation Construction Company who headed the team of surveyors to Mundri West County said, they went to survey which is one of the critical parts and elements in road design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 He said Save the Nation and the partners CC3 has started the survey of Highway in Mundri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineer Joseph stated that the project will engage all stakeholders from the State to County authorities and also at Payam to Boma levels for smooth running of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey team leader however said, road construction project will not interfere much with the town to avoid destructing community assets, which the construction company will not be able to make compensation to the owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cOur project will affect towns because do not have compensation to affect people in the towns, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Mundri West County, Zilipha Dawa welcomed the survey team in her county, and urged them to present their plan for Mundri town amid demolition concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo dissolve the town will be expensive to the project and it will cost all the project fund to construct this town,\u201d the commissioner said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI appeal to the construction Company to present their plan concerning Mundri town and to agree upon which area needs support, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juba-Mundri Highway is part of the government\u2019s oil for road huge road infrastructure project declared by President Salva Kiir to open up transport routes across the country to improve good service delivery to the people in the country.
