The Authority of the Juba City Council and a delegation from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Thursday held a meeting to lay a strategy in regards to waste management project in Juba city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This came following a long term plan that the City Council in collaboration with Central Equatoria State government and Juba County had laid to ensure comprehensive waste management that would provide the city with scheme of making it clean, green and healthy for all its inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high delegation from JICA was headed by Mr. Mashiro Saito as a team leader together with South Sudan\u2019s Ambassador in Japan who were welcomed by the City Council\u2019s Mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting discussed the structures and the project outline, detailed planning phase, methodology, implementation policy, work schedule as well as cleaning of Juba city to improve the solid waste management situation in Juba in accordance to the waste management\u2019s master plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his statement to the media Michael Lado Allah-Jabu, the Juba City Mayor said that the initiative of the solid waste management negotiation started in 2011 and 2014 through consultation from the National and the state government followed by the 2018 consultation and the former agreement signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also assured their willingness as the city Council and Juba County to continue supporting the initiative of garbage collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile Yamanaka Yoshifumi, a representative from the Japanese International Cooperation (JICA) in South Sudan reiterated their strategic commitment to harmonize with the State government, Juba County and the Juba City Council towards making Juba clean, green and safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to assure the public that  our union will not only make Juba City clean and green but will also contribute positively in various sectors such as the improvement of the City\u2019s structure such as construction of bridges and pavement of roads,\u201d assured Yoshifumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is necessary for the stakeholders to invest much of their efforts and confidence in achieving the purpose of the initiative to develop the communities because with confidence from the government and the community through their support, the project which shall be meant to serve the purpose of the citizens will surely succeed without failures and they will enjoy the fruits that they have been expecting from their authorities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same note, Charles Taban, the Chief Executive Officer of the Juba City Council expressed his gratitude for the two partners for having discussed and brainstormed over issues concerning development of the Juba City that would enhance better living for the entire citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
