Renegade Stephen Buay\u2019s threats and calling on oil workers in Unity State\u2019s Tharjiath to vacate the area alleging that the government will not protect them are just empty threats, said the spokesperson of the army, Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South Sudan People\u2019s Defense Forces (SSPDF) spokesperson Gen. Lul Ruai Koang was speaking to No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lul told No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper that the newly claims of the opposition leader and the chairperson of the holdout South Sudan People\u2019s Movement\/Army (SSPM\/SSPA were mere empty threats to oil workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday last week on 22\/ July\/2022, the holdout group attacked Mayom County Headquarters of Unity state killing the commissioner and 11 officers of different ranks in the various organized forces and 13 people were wounded during the clashes including two women, two SSPDF officers and eight police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in another statement seen by No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, South Sudan opposition leader and chairperson of the holdout South Sudan People\u2019s Movement\/Army (SSPM\/SSPA) Gen. Stephen Buay Rolnyang cautioned oil workers in Unity State\u2019s Tharjiath and Unity oilfields to vacate the areas as he warned that government will not protect them anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes after an overnight attack on Mayom County headquarters led by one of the SSPA officers in Unity State resulting in the killing of Mayom County Commissioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe SSPM\/SSPA is cautioning the international oil workers in Western Upper Nile and Upper Nile regions to be evacuated immediately within one week\u2019s time to avoid being caught in crossfire\u201d Buay said in a statement extended to No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further said that the people of South Sudan have been divided along tribal lines and cannot do any initiative to save their country and that the SSPM\/A has chosen violence because it has exhausted all peaceful avenues. \u201cOur People have been divided, they are unable to work together to achieve justice and freedom to confide in each other or even to do much of anything at their imitative\u201d Gen.
