The Reconstituted Transitional National Legislature on Monday passed an amendment Bill of the Assembly Conduct of Business Regulations 2013(Amendment Bill No.2)2022, to amend regulation 12 that will include a Chief Whip position for the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the new Amendment passed yesterday, the National Assembly will now have three chief whips in the parliament which has been agreed after consultation among the parties to the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dengtiel A. Kuur the chairperson of the Legislation and Legal Affairs Committee at the National Legislature presented the Report of the standing specialized committee on the Transitional National Legislature Conduct of Business Regulations 2013 (Amendment No. 2) Bill 2022 to the August houses in its stages for deliberation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Amendment Bill was presented to the floor of parliament in accordance with regulations 83 of the Legislature Conduct of Business Regulations, 2013, as amended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of the proposed amendment was for the legislature to include a chief whip for the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), which was eventually agreed upon and passed following consensus being reached among the parties signatories to the R-ARCSS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jemma Nunu Kumba, the Speaker of the Reconstituted National Legislative Assembly who chaired the sitting yesterday said the parliament confirmed the passing of the Amendment Bill to the Conduct of Business Regulation that now gives SSOA a chief whip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The Chairperson of the Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services at the national assembly John Agany Deng said the parliament adopted the Amendment Bill granting the SSOA a position of chief whip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe National Legislature in its ordinary sitting No: 8\/2022 received the presentation on the report of the Specialized Committee on Legislation and Legal Affairs and the Legislature has done the amendment No.2\u201d Agany told reporters shortly after the sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also stated that, the Amendment Bill No.1\/2022 of the Parliamentary Service Commission Act 2014 has been passed from 3rd<\/sup> to fourth reading stage, and all the corrections that they made will be incorporated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Agany explained that the Service Commission Act is basically on the welfare dealing with members of parliament and also the employees of the parliament; it\u2019s being amended and will take effect as soon as it\u2019s signed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
