The Commissioner of Morobo County, Joseph Mawa Okuba, has convened a meeting with departmental heads and payam directors to assess performance.
The meeting was aimed at addressing challenges, and review progress on key government priorities.
The meeting focused on six strategic areas aligned with the State government’s agenda: security, economic empowerment, education, health, airstrip development, and infrastructure.
Officials presented updates on their respective sectors, highlighting both achievements and constraints affecting service delivery.
Acting Executive Director Ezibon Gele raised concerns over alleged interference in departmental work and encroachment on institutional mandates, calling for the Commissioner’s intervention to ensure smooth operations.
Payam directors, meanwhile, pointed to staffing shortages and insecurity as major obstacles, particularly in efforts to strengthen market activities and boost local revenue collection.
Paramount Chief Naphatali Yakani urged county staff to work in close coordination with traditional leaders and security agencies to maintain stability and improve governance at the grassroots level.
In his remarks, Commissioner Okuba underscored the importance of professionalism and unity within the county administration.
He warned that tribalism would not be tolerated, stating that any staff found engaging in such practices would face dismissal.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from both administrators and local leaders to enhance coordination and prioritize service delivery across the county.
