By Sabri Dibaco

The National Ministry of Health has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing distribution of C4 supplies across the country, describing the exercise as a significant step toward strengthening the health system.

In a statement released, the Ministry confirmed that the distribution process is progressing well, with essential medical supplies reaching health facilities in several states.

The C4 supplies, which include critical medical commodities, are aimed at improving service delivery and supporting healthcare workers in responding to public health needs.

“We are pleased to share that the distribution of Consignment Number Four (C4) supplies is now underway.

Loading has begun for Warrap, Lakes, and Unity States, with Panijiar pending air transportation and set to be dispatched shortly” the statement partly reads

The Ministry noted that the distribution is being carried out in collaboration with key partners to ensure timely and efficient delivery, especially to remote and underserved areas. Authorities emphasized that the initiative will help address shortages and enhance the availability of life saving medicines and equipment.

“We acknowledge that there have been gaps in the availability of essential supplies in recent months.

As the Ministry of Health, we take this seriously and remain committed to strengthening our systems to ensure more timely and reliable delivery moving forward” the statement continues.

There is ongoing outcry from citizens in the country about lack of health facilities across the hospitals in the country, so this has boosted the civilians’ hopes as they have been crying for proper medical attention.

The ministry opined that after finishing Warrap, Lakes, and Unity States, they will start the process of distribution to other states who are yet to receive their distributions

“Following the current dispatch, Northern Bahr El Ghazal and Western Bahr El Ghazal will be next, with the remaining states to follow in the coming days”.

In a statement, the Ministry stated that this effort is part of the South Sudan Health Sector Transformation Project (HSTP), a multi-donor, government-led initiative aimed at strengthening the health system and ensuring that communities across the country have access to the essential services they deserve.

Health officials further highlighted that the program reflects the government’s commitment to  improving healthcare access and strengthening the overall resilience of the health sector.

The Ministry also reassured the public that monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the distribution process.

Citizens have been encouraged to support health workers and make use of the improved services as the supplies continue to reach facilities nationwide.
