The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Central Equatoria State has stepped up its grassroots mobilisation efforts under the leadership of Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony.

This is part of broader preparations for the December 2026 general elections.

Governor Adil, who also serves as SPLM Chairperson for Central Equatoria State, joined the party’s secretary general, Cde. Akol Paul Kordit, in a high-level political training organised by the Juba County SPLM Secretariat.

The one-day training, held under the theme Empowering Grassroots Structures for Electoral Readiness, brought together party members from across the county to strengthen coordination, mobilisation, and organisational capacity.

In his remarks, Governor Adil emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and strategic grassroots engagement in building a strong and people-centred party.

He highlighted Central Equatoria’s commitment to leading by example in mobilisation and political organisation as the country approaches the 2026 elections.

“Our strength lies in our unity and our connection with the people at the grassroots. We must continue to organise, mobilise, and empower our communities to ensure a successful and peaceful electoral process,” Adil stated.

He further called on party members to intensify outreach efforts, expand recruitment, and uphold the SPLM’s vision and values, noting that continuous political education remains key to sustaining momentum across the state.

The governor also encouraged strong participation in the upcoming May 16 SPLM celebrations, describing the occasion as a vital platform to demonstrate solidarity, progress, and the party’s enduring connection with the people of Central Equatoria.

SPLM Secretary General Cde. Akol Paul Kordit commended the Central Equatoria leadership for its proactive approach, noting that the state continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the party’s national agenda through effective grassroots structures.

At the county level, Juba County SPLM leadership reaffirmed its alignment with the state’s vision, pledging to deepen community engagement and strengthen awareness of the party’s principles.

The event also witnessed the recruitment of 53 new members through the County Youth League, reflecting growing confidence in the party’s leadership and its commitment to inclusive participation, particularly among young people.

The intensified mobilisation efforts underscore Central Equatoria State’s strategic role in reinforcing SPLM structures and ensuring readiness for the upcoming elections, with Governor Adil’s leadership driving a renewed focus on unity, organisation, and service to the people.
