President Salva Kiir Mayardit met on Monday with Kuongo Dak Padiet, the king of the Collo Kingdom, at the Presidential Palace in Juba.
According to the Presidential Press Unit, the meeting focused on efforts to promote national stability and prepare for upcoming elections.
Both sides emphasised the importance of unity, peace, and cooperation among leaders.
The statement said King Dak expressed strong support for the electoral process and encouraged President Kiir to lead the country toward a peaceful and credible democratic transition.
“During the meeting, King Dak expressed his full support for the upcoming elections, offering his blessing and encouraging President Kiir to guide the nation toward a peaceful and credible democratic transition,” the statement partly read
He also called on all political and community leaders to work together in the national interest.
President Kiir, in turn, stressed the idea of collective responsibility, saying that national progress depends on unity, transparency, and shared commitment to the common good.
“H.E. the President underscored the importance of collective responsibility, noting that national progress requires unity, transparency, and a shared commitment to the common good,” it read.
Overall, the meeting was presented as part of ongoing political consultations aimed at strengthening stability ahead of elections.
