The Catholic Diocese of Yei celebrated Bishop Rt. Rev. Alex Lodiong Sakor Eyobo’s fourth anniversary on Friday at Christ the King Parish, with attendance from government officials, clergy, religious leaders, and parishioners.
Bishop Sakor Eyobo praised the parishioners for maintaining their faith despite social and economic challenges. He called on Christians to renew their spiritual commitment, trust in Christ, and uphold unity. He also acknowledged the dedication and sacrifice of priests and clergy within the diocese.
During the event, the bishop announced administrative changes aimed at strengthening church leadership and pastoral services.
Commissioner Samuel Henry Malimbo highlighted the importance of collaboration between the church and community to promote peace, unity, and Christian values. He congratulated the bishop and encouraged continued support for the church.
Parishioner Mama Rejina Yangi Amos described the celebration as joyful and memorable, emphasising that the large turnout reflected a growing spirit of peace and unity in Yei.
