Hundreds of Arsenal supporters in Yambio on Friday took part in a community cleaning campaign at Yambio State Hospital as part of a youth-led initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, unity, and civic engagement.

The exercise brought together young people from different parts of Yambio County, who worked together to clean the hospital surroundings in an effort to improve the environment for patients and healthcare workers.

Speaking during the activity, sports journalist and Arsenal supporter Bongomin Walter said the initiative was organised to give hope to patients while encouraging young people to take part in meaningful community service.

He said the supporters were motivated not only by football but also by a shared commitment to improving their community.

โ€œThis is more than football celebrations. It is about bringing youth together to carry out meaningful work and promote unity in the community,โ€ Walter said.

Silvetor Ruati, Deputy Chairperson of Arsenal supporters in Western Equatoria State, said the campaign demonstrated the groupโ€™s commitment to positive community engagement and peaceful activity. He noted that the initiative was also a way of giving back to society through service.

John Sunday, Chairperson of Arsenal fans in the state, added that the exercise was intended to promote discipline, responsibility, and active citizenship among young supporters.

โ€œWe want to demonstrate that football supporters can contribute positively to society through activities that benefit the wider community,โ€ he said.

The initiative received appreciation from the hospital administration. John Peter Sangara, Administrator of Yambio State Hospital, described the activity as a strong sign of unity and cooperation between youth and public institutions.

He encouraged other youth groups to engage in similar constructive activities that support public health facilities and community development.

More than 100 young people participated in the cleaning exercise, which covered various sections of the hospital premises.
