The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has pledged full government support to address challenges facing Yei River County following a briefing by County Commissioner Samuel Malimbo on the county’s security and development progress.
“Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony received a general briefing from Samuel Malimbo, the Commissioner of Yei River County, regarding the security situation, which he described as normal with locals going on with their agricultural activities and ongoing efforts to rehabilitate major infrastructures in the county,” the statement partly reads.
In a press statement from the office of the governor, CES Malimbo, the commissioner of Yei, informed the governor that the security situation in the county remains normal, allowing residents to continue engaging in agricultural activities without major disruptions.
He also highlighted the ongoing infrastructure rehabilitation projects aimed at improving connectivity and essential services.
The commissioner specifically highlighted the rehabilitation of Kanjoro Bridge through a community-led initiative, describing it as a vital development project that will strengthen transportation and access across the county.
He additionally updated the governor on inspections at the Yei Electricity Corporation (YECO), which are intended to secure the facility and facilitate repair works for the resumption of stable electricity services.
“During the briefing, Malimbo outlined the ongoing transformative community-led initiative of Kanjoro Bridge rehabilitation, which will serve as a vital road for connectivity, and the inspections of Yei Electricity Corporation (YECO) that aims to safeguard the facility and its repair process for reliable electricity resumption in the county,” the statement partly reads
Governor Adil praised the efforts being undertaken by the county administration and communities to rebuild key infrastructure.
He urged the commissioner to maintain close collaboration with security agencies to ensure lasting peace and create an enabling environment for rapid development.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting Yei River County in overcoming developmental challenges and restoring the town’s economic and social vibrancy.
