Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on Mundari youth from cattle camps to promote peace, unity, and responsible citizenship, urging them to reject violence and play a constructive role in their communities.
The governor made the remarks when a delegation of Mundari cattle camp youth paid him a courtesy visit to reaffirm their commitment to peace and cooperation with the state government.
Addressing the delegation, Governor Adil commended the youth for coming together and encouraged them to strengthen unity among themselves and their communities. He stressed that dialogue should always be used to resolve disputes instead of violence.
“The future of our state depends on peaceful coexistence and the active participation of young people in nation-building,” the governor said.
With the country preparing for the coming elections, Governor Adil urged the youth to register and actively participate in the electoral process, describing their involvement as vital to shaping the future of Central Equatoria State and South Sudan.
The governor also appealed to the cattle camp youth to ensure that their livestock do not stray into farmers’ fields, warning that such incidents often trigger conflicts between pastoralists and farming communities.
He advised them to keep their cattle within designated grazing areas and work with local authorities to prevent disputes.
Governor Adil further encouraged the youth to become ambassadors of peace within the cattle camps by promoting harmony, supporting law and order, and cooperating with community leaders and security agencies.
He assured the delegation that the state government remains committed to improving service delivery and creating opportunities for youth through skills development and empowerment programs.
The meeting was attended by the State Security Advisor, Hon. Angelo Daya; Minister of Trade and Mining, Mawa A. Moses; Commissioner General of the State Revenue Authority, Hon. Franco Mogga Lopia; Terekeka County Commissioner, Hon. Emmanuel Lako Lado; and other senior state government officials.
