Upper Nile State SPLM Chairperson calls for grassroots mobilisation ahead of elections

The governor of Upper Nile State and chairperson of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in the state, James Koang Chuol Ranley, has called for strengthened party mobilisation, grassroots engagement, and political commitment as South Sudan prepares for the upcoming general elections.

Governor Koang made the remarks during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed SPLM county chairpersons in Upper Nile State.

The newly sworn-in party leaders include chairpersons for Renk, Nasir, Maiwut, Melut, Maban, and Longochuk counties.

Addressing the gathering, Cde. James Koang urged the new county chairpersons to strengthen the SPLM at the grassroots level and remain committed to promoting peace and stability.

He also encouraged the newly appointed leaders to work closely with local communities as the country moves toward the general elections.

The governor emphasised the importance of peace, stability, and renewed political commitment as the country prepares for the electoral process.

The ceremony was attended by Cde. Deng Akuei Kak, Deputy SPLM State Chairperson; SPLM caucuses; party supporters; youth and women representatives; as well as other well-wishers who gathered to witness the swearing-in of the new county SPLM leadership.
