The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Kampala, Uganda, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that it is closing its operations and diplomatic activities in the country.
In an official clarification dated August 17, 2026, the embassy described the reports as false, misleading, and without any factual basis.
The embassy stressed that it remains fully operational and continues to discharge its diplomatic and consular responsibilities in accordance with its mandate and the established diplomatic relations between South Sudan and Uganda.
It urged the public to disregard circulating reports and rely on official communications for accurate information about the embassy’s operations.
