The Office of Information, Culture and Communications, Northern Bahr El Ghazal State SPLM Secretariat, has denied and clarified that the photo seen circulating on social media as evidence of a confrontation that occurred at the SPLM State Secretariat is fraudulent.
According to the official, the photo was taken during the launch of SPLM Membership Registration at the Secretariat.
“What happened at the SPLM State Secretariat was a small misunderstanding as some members of the SPLM State Liberation Council resorted to violence and physical confrontation within the Party, which is unlawful, and it is not the rightful way of handling Party grievances,” according to a statement released by the State.
This group has been taken into custody as security agencies intervened after the incident, and the members of the Secretariat are continuously executing their normal activities in the Offices.
Moreover, the office of the information secretary urged the public to disregard the photo circulating on social media and also disregard the injuries alleged to be sustained by some of the Secretariat administrators.
The SPLM State Secretariat, under the leadership of Gen. Cde. Charles Madut Akol remains committed to handling such cases through political dialogue rather than violence, as the SPLM encourages unity, discipline, and respect for the SPLM Constitution.
