The Central Equatoria State Ministry of Health has handed over 50 iron sheets to Wonduruba Primary Health Care Centre to support the expansion and improvement of the health facility.
The materials were handed over on Wednesday under the leadership of State Minister of Health Joyce Bakwa Agole.
The facility in charge of Wonduruba PHCC received the iron sheets and welcomed the support, saying the materials will help expand wards and improve the facility’s infrastructure.
The official also appealed for continued assistance to address other infrastructure and service-delivery needs at the health centre.
Speaking during the handover, the Minister of Health, Joyce Bakwa Agole, said supporting health facilities across Central Equatoria remains a priority for her ministry.
“It is our prerogative to extend support to health facilities across Central Equatoria. We will continue lobbying for additional building materials and other essential support to improve the condition and capacity of our health facilities,” Joyce said.
The minister said the State Ministry of Health will continue working with development partners and other stakeholders to mobilise resources for health facilities across the state.
She added that the efforts are aimed at strengthening health infrastructure and improving access to quality healthcare services for communities.
Wonduruba PHCC is among the primary health facilities serving communities in Central Equatoria State. Primary health care centres play an important role in providing basic healthcare services, including treatment, maternal and child health services, disease prevention, and health education.
The ministry says additional infrastructure and resources are needed to improve the capacity of health facilities and expand access to healthcare services across the state.
