South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) President Francis Amin Michael has honored football commentator Sebit Agogo for his contribution to football development in Western Equatoria State.
Mr. Agogo was recognised during an event in Maridi on Sunday, where the SSFF President presented him with an award acknowledging his work in football commentary and promotion of the sport.
Speaking during the occasion, Mr. Amin praised Agogo for his dedication to football and encouraged him to continue using his experience and platform to promote the game in Western Equatoria and across South Sudan.
“Your contribution to football through commentary is important in promoting the game and encouraging more people to follow and participate in the sport,” Mr. Amin said.
He urged Agogo to remain committed to supporting football development and inspiring young people through sports.
The SSFF president also extended support to local football structures, providing equipment and financial assistance to strengthen football activities at the grassroots level.
The Yambio Local Football Association received a laptop, footballs and financial assistance, alongside support for its refereeing department.
Meanwhile, the Maridi Sub-Football Association received financial assistance, footballs, sports materials, refereeing equipment and goal nets to support local competitions and other football activities.
Mr. Amin said the support was intended to strengthen local football associations and improve their capacity to organise competitions, support referees and develop football talent.
The assistance comes as local football associations continue to play a role in identifying young talent, organising competitions and expanding football participation across Western Equatoria State.
The recognition of Agogo also highlights the role of sports commentators in promoting local football, attracting public interest and creating awareness about sporting activities in the state.
