The management of Wunrok Nursery and Primary School has appealed to the Office of the Vice President and Chair of Service Cluster, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, and the National Ministry of General Education and Instruction to support the construction of additional classrooms and the improvement of learning facilities at the school.
The appeal comes amid growing calls from residents of Twic County for increased investment in education infrastructure to meet the needs of a rising student population.
Wunrok Nursery and Primary School currently enrolls more than 500 learners but continues to face challenges related to inadequate classroom space and limited learning facilities.
School administrators say the shortage of classrooms has contributed to congestion, making it difficult to provide an optimal learning environment.
According to the management, constructing additional classrooms would help improve learning conditions and enable the school to accommodate its growing enrollment more effectively.
The institution is staffed by 14 qualified teachers, all of whom are college or university graduates committed to providing quality education despite the existing infrastructure constraints.
School founder Deng Mawel Deng said government support for classroom construction would significantly enhance education services in the area and improve academic outcomes for hundreds of children.
“Expanding the school’s infrastructure will create a better learning environment and help ensure that every child receives quality education,” Deng said.
Community members have praised Wunrok Nursery and Primary School for its contribution to education in the area.
Last week, residents described the institution as a valuable asset that has helped families save thousands of dollars annually by providing quality education locally, reducing the need to send children to neighboring countries for schooling.
The school has also earned recognition for its strong academic performance and commitment to educational excellence, with community leaders describing it as one of the best-performing learning institutions in Twic County.
The management is further appealing to development partners, humanitarian organisations, well-wishers, and members of the Twic community to contribute to efforts aimed at constructing modern classrooms and improving educational facilities.
School officials emphasised that investing in education is investing in the future, noting that improved infrastructure would benefit the more than 500 learners currently enrolled and generations of students to come.
