President Salva Kiir Mayardit has relieved Madut Biar Yel of his duties as Minister of Higher Education.
The changes were announced through presidential decrees on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Monday evening.
According to the decrees, President Kiir appointed Changkuoth Bichok as the new Minister of Higher Education, taking over the portfolio immediately.
In a separate decree, President Kiir appointed the outgoing minister, Madut Biar Yel, as Presidential Envoy for the Great Lakes Region.
