The Chairperson of the SPLM in Central Equatoria State, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has urged party members and residents of Wonduruba Administrative Payam to remain united and peaceful as the country prepares for the December 2026 general elections.
Adil made the call on Saturday while closing a training session for SPLM cadres in Wonduruba. He commended party members for mobilising communities, recruiting new members, and strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.
He also encouraged eligible citizens to participate in the upcoming voter registration exercise, saying preparations for the elections should begin early.
Adil conveyed greetings from SPLM Chairman and President Salva Kiir Mayardit to the people of Wonduruba and urged them to prepare for the elections.
“Greet my people in Wonduruba and let them be prepared for the elections,” Adil quoted President Kiir as saying.
The state SPLM chairperson also called on residents to peacefully receive people returning to their communities as part of the ongoing peace process.
He urged community members not to harass or intimidate returnees but instead to introduce them to local chiefs and relevant government authorities to support their peaceful reintegration.
The SPLM State Secretary, Ann Kaku Samson, said the training focused on political recruitment and mobilisation, capacity building, resource mobilisation, ethics, management, and strengthening the party’s cadre base.
The training also saw the introduction of newly recruited SPLM members, including Paul Lako, who previously belonged to the SPLM-IO, and Nelson Yanga, a former member of the National Patriotic Party.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Wonduruba Administrative Payam, Towongo Stephen, reaffirmed the area’s support for the SPLM and endorsed President Salva Kiir Mayardit as the party’s flag bearer for the upcoming elections.
The SPLM leadership has continued to mobilise its grassroots structures across Central Equatoria as the country prepares for the December 2026 elections, with party officials urging members to strengthen unity and maintain peace ahead of the polls.
