The Newly appointed commissioner of Aweil East County in Northern Bahr El Ghazal state has revealed that he and his colleagues will collaborate with their administrators in the county to ensure that services are provided to the local population through being inquisitive so that services are delivered.
Commissioner, Mawein Mawein Kuol, who was appointed of late by Governor Charles Madut Akol and got sworn-in on Monday in Aweil town, pledged that he would work hard to ensure that services are derived as Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) is being demanded to give back to the people.
Mawein says, he would liaise with those vying for positions and once they are elected in the forthcoming election into the respective offices they have to pay back to the people.
“As we know that SPLM is a ruling party that is being looked up to by the constituents, we know we have a lot of things that are lacking, which include good roads, health facilities and schools and therefore, we need to be more demanding and inquisitive by asking it to deliver them,” Mawein noted.
He said as the ruling party has been faced with challenges such as a lot of insecurity that it is grappling with, they are going to liaise with the state government to lobby for support of electorates as they will do more in mobilizing people for voting.
“In this election, we shall do what it takes to ensure that our people turn out in huge number and vote but after that we need services,” he emphasized.
In a similar vein, after swearing-in ceremony and giving key-note address, Governor Charles Madut emphasized the need to play a critical role in unifying people so that a new government is set up.
“Those tasked with mobilizing people especially in doing civic and voter education needs to play a significant role in this coming election, and our hope is that let’s go to the grassroots and play a role of educating people and unite ourselves and avoid divisive languages,” he said.
