By Ngor Deng Matem

The Gok-Machar community has contributed SSP 94.6 million and US$3,970 during the first phase of a community-led fundraising campaign to support the development of Gok-Machar County Hospital.

The Gok-Machar County Hospital Fund Mobilisation Committee displayed the contributions at the county headquarters as it launched a new fundraising drive to mobilise additional resources for the hospital.

Gok-Machar serves as the county headquarters of Aweil North County, where members of the local community are leading efforts to strengthen healthcare services and expand medical facilities.

The hospital provides essential health services to residents, including maternity care, outpatient services, emergency treatment, and other basic medical services, making its expansion important to the local community.

The second phase of the fundraising campaign will support the construction of an additional unit on the hospital premises, alongside efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and services.

The mobilisation committee has appealed to members of the public, well-wishers, and other supporters to contribute to the initiative.

The committee said the funds will help improve healthcare services and expand facilities at Gok-Machar County Hospital.
