Governor Louis Lobong Lojore of Eastern Equatoria State has appealed to the national Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs to ensure that legal proceedings concerning suspects in the killing of the Kapoeta East County Commissioner are properly pursued.
Governor Lobong raised the matter during a meeting with the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol, as the state government seeks follow-up on the case.
According to the governor, the case was formally presented to the Ministry of Justice with a request for intervention to ensure that the suspects are dealt with through the established legal and judicial processes.
The governor’s move underscores the state government’s call for accountability in connection with the killing of the Kapoeta East County Commissioner.
During the meeting, Minister Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the case and ensuring that justice is served.
The minister’s assurance comes as authorities continue efforts to address the circumstances surrounding the commissioner’s death and ensure that the matter proceeds through the appropriate legal channels.
Governor Lobong has called for the relevant institutions to follow due process, stressing the importance of allowing the justice system to handle the case in accordance with the law.
