Central Equatoria State governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, has called on citizens to embrace peace, unity and shared responsibility in restoring stability.

According to governor’s office, Rabi made the call during Sunday service at St. Thereza Cathedral in Kator.

The governor also conveyed a message from President Salva Kiir Mayardit, urging the people of Central Equatoria to remain united and committed to building a peaceful future.

“Restoring stability is a collective responsibility of all stakeholders in the State,” Governor Rabi told the congregation of Bari service.

He encouraged the Bari community to maintain internal cohesion and work together to overcome social and security challenges.

The governor also issued an appeal to parents to take up active roles in guiding their children and protect them from falling into criminal activity, particularly gang-related activities.

During his address, governor Rabi called for local engagements and approaches to bring armed groups like those holding out in Morobo and Yei, he cited back into the fold.

He further urged rebelling individuals to lay down their arms and participate in the peace process, strongly emphasizing the importance of reconciliation, forgiveness and unity in achieving lasting peace across the country.

“Our shared interest lies in restoring peace and stability,” he stated, calling on all citizens to work together in shaping a more secure and united Central Equatoria.
