The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has officially refuted recent media reports claiming that South Sudan is in discussions with Israel to resettle Palestinians from Gaza.
The Ministry labelled the reports as “unfounded” and “inaccurate,” stating they do not reflect the nation’s policy.
“As per the Ministry’s statement dated 13 August 2025, the Ministry firmly reiterates that these reports are unfounded and do not reflect the policies, intentions, or diplomatic engagements of the Government of South Sudan,” the Ministry declared in a statement. It stressed that no consultations of any kind have taken place on the matter.
The Ministry expressed concern that such misinformation could have “adverse implications for diplomatic relations and public perception.” It urged media outlets and journalists to “exercise the utmost responsibility and due diligence in their reporting” and to verify information through official government channels.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and national sovereignty, the Ministry announced it will begin holding weekly media briefings every Thursday, starting on September 4, 2025.
This move aims to improve coordination and enhance public awareness of the government’s official stance on key issues.
South Sudan’s foreign policy is guided by principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Ministry’s statement emphasizes the importance of official communication channels for sensitive matters of foreign policy, highlighting the need for accurate information to maintain both domestic and international trust.
Recently most international Media report that South Sudan and Israel were in discussion to deal to resettle Palestinians from war Gaza.
This information was picked by most online media, a move that sparked criticism for South Sudan government as well as the government of Israel.
