The former NRC-run Vocational Training Centre in Maper of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state is set for renovation in order to equip citizens with practical skills for self-reliance, employment, and economic growth.

In a statement issued by the Northern Bahr el Ghazal state governor’s press unit yesterday, the training center was officially handed over to the state government after the program ended.

The statement underscored Governor Simon Ober Mawut has inspected the Vocational Training Centre ahead of renovation.

It also emphasized the visit comes as part of the state government’s wider efforts to strengthen skills development and empower young people through vocational education.

It further stated during the inspection, the Governor emphasized the importance of reviving the centre, noting that once renovated and reopened, it will play a critical role in equipping citizens with practical skills for self-reliance, employment, and economic growth.

According to the statement, the Centre would offer training programs such as carpentry, mechanics, tailoring, computer literacy, and other trades of high demand.

In a rapidly evolving job market where specialized skills are highly sought after, vocational training institutes play a crucial role in preparing individuals for successful careers.

These institutes offer hands-on training in specific trades and professions, equipping students with the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel in their chosen field.

One of the key advantages of vocational training institutes is their focus on real-world applications.

Students learn directly applicable skills that are in demand by industries such as healthcare, information technology, construction, automotive repair, and culinary arts.

This targeted approach not only accelerates the learning process but also increases graduates’ employability upon completion of their training.

Furthermore, vocational training institutes provide a flexible and accessible pathway to education and career advancement.
