The invitation from Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) to the youth leaders from Jonglei State to visit Pibor town for a peace rally remains crucial.
This visit will allow the youth from Jonglei State to interact freely with the youth from Pibor and understand their challenges holding the several peace accord hostages.
Despite several peace agreements between the youth from the mentioned areas, there has been no genuine implementation. Just a few days after the peace agreement, reports of cattle wrestling and child abduction surface.
However, the recent invitation by GPAA Chief Gola Boyoi Gola remains a genuine point to discuss and seek the necessary avenues to bring lasting peace among the people of GPAA and the Jonglei.
The conflict between youth from these areas has been so frequent despite calls and efforts by the national government.
Eyes have been set on Jonglei youth leaders and the chief administrator and the partners to engage constructively with the larger youth in order to end the violence.
The visit would also allow the youth from Pibor to hear directly from Jonglei youth leaders a message for peace and unity.
The government needs to support such visits for youth at the grassroots to be complete and massively engaged through awareness.
