People should differentiate political parties from communities
After the prominent figure from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) quit, it went viral on social media, with many expressing different views.
The political figure who later declared his own party explained in a press statement why he left the party as well as formed the new political party.
As debate continued on social media, some community members took it upon themselves to either condemn or support in another way while carrying the community tags.
With this mixing of political and community, there is a need for awareness in order for the citizens and the public in general to differentiate between the political part and the community.
When one knows the two among the two, there will be no need to relate individual political decisions to the greater community.
Although the politicians who defected and formed their own party get followers or support from their community, such people are brought together by ideologies, not community or blood relations.
Hence, there is a need for the elites to always send good analysis messages to the public in order to avoid division or misunderstandings that target certain groups just because of personal political interest.
According to the constitution, every citizen has the right to choose and support a political party; it is not an offense. Hence, there is no need to target individuals who made it open.
The social media family must cease words that incite violence or that attack the community whenever one or two people make political decisions.
