The South Sudan National Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (SSNCCIA) has suspended Lual Akot Akot from all Chamber activities.
In a statement issued Tuesday, SSNCCIA Secretary General Kur Nyok Deng informed authorities, institutions, partners and stakeholders of a resolution adopted by the Board of Directors.
“Following careful consideration, the Board resolved to indefinitely suspend Mr. John Lual Akol Akot from all duties, roles, privileges and activities associated with the Chamber,” Nyok said.
He noted that the decision takes immediate effect and that the Board has withdrawn confidence in Akot to represent SSNCCIA in any capacity — national, regional or international. “Kindly note that Mr. John Lual Akol Akot is no longer authorized to act, speak or engage on behalf of SSNCCIA,” Nyok added.
The statement further clarified that any correspondence or representation made by Akot should not be regarded as official Chamber business. “The Chamber shall not be held responsible for any actions or commitments undertaken by him from the date of this notice,” Nyok said.
He explained that the circular was issued to ensure clarity of representation, uphold institutional order and protect the integrity of the Chamber.
The resolution was adopted at a duly convened Board meeting held on 28 November 2025 at the SSNCCIA National Secretariat. The Board suspended Akot from all Chamber activities and withdrew confidence in him to act in any official capacity.
The reason for the suspension was not clarified.
