South Sudan Government has pledged to protect the civilians and also offer humanitarian access across the country.
In the press statement issued on Tuesday by the VP for Gender and Youth cluster’s Press Unit, Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior met with Jan Egeland, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) SG to discuss humanitarian situation in the country.
“The meeting highlighted on the protection of civilians, humanitarian access in the most areas of conflict in the country” the statement read.
According to the statement, the meeting focused on the humanitarian situation in Sudan and South Sudan affecting the communities in affected areas.
Additionally, it also focused on the importance of dialogue in addressing conflict and displacement of civil population.
“Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, stability of the people of South Sudan” the statement read.
They also reaffirmed continued cooperation with humanitarian partners to support affected communities across the region.
This visit come as the result of the humanitarian access from the Norwegian Refugees Council (NRC) to the citizens of South Sudan.
The conflict in South Sudan affected most of the population, women and children displaced from their houses seeking for refuge in the hustling community.
