A South Sudanese content creator popularly known as Comedian Amath Jook has donated a borehole to her home village of Malual Baai in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.

In a statement released on her official social media page, Amath Jook expressed her joy at completing the project, noting that the community has long faced a shortage of safe and clean water.

“I’m really excited about the completion of the borehole installation in our village. It took me a long time to finish this work,” she said.

Amath Jook, who rose to prominence through her Dinka-language comedy performances, said the borehole project was a personal commitment to improve living conditions in her community.

She added that the achievement was made possible through faith in God and determination, despite her limited financial capacity.

The new borehole is expected to significantly reduce the burden on residents who previously had to fetch water from rivers and other distant sources. Community members welcomed the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of love and dedication to her people.

Residents also called on the government, organizations, and other sons and daughters of the area to follow her example by supporting vulnerable people in rural communities with basic needs such as food, water, and shelter.

“I urge the people of South Sudan to help vulnerable communities in villages gain access to food, water, and shelter,” Amath Jook said.

The official opening of the borehole is scheduled for February 16, 2026, and members of the public have been invited to attend the event.

Community leaders expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue to uplift underserved communities across the country.
