President Salva Kiir Mayardit has officially launched the newly enhanced Office of the President’s website, aimed at improving communication and strengthening access to public information.
In a statement that was released by the presidential press unit yesterday, the platform would provide timely and reliable updates on government activities, national policies, presidential engagements, speeches, announcements, and engagement resources.
The statement underscored that President Kiir, while speaking at the launch, described the website as an important step toward promoting transparency, accountability, and public awareness.
“He said modern communication tools are essential in keeping citizens informed and helping counter misinformation through official updates,” the statement partly read.
It underlined that the government also announced plans to establish an official government gazette to publish laws, regulations, and official notices.
“The Committee thanked President Kiir for entrusting them with developing the platform, saying the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to digital transformation and improved service delivery,” the statement continued.
According to the press unit, the committee affirmed its commitment to ensuring the website continues to serve citizens both at home and abroad.
“Officials said the launch marks a new chapter in modernising government communication and strengthening engagement between the presidency and the people,” the statement read.
