Unanimous political party leaders have agreed to officially close the inter-party dialogue after successfully reviewing the resolutions.
In a statement by the general secretariat in Juba, a consultative session was convened to review the finalised resolutions, deliberate on the joint communiqué, and finalise organisational logistics for the upcoming official closing ceremony.
“Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro confirmed that preparations are fully aligned to mark the conclusion of this national consultative exercise, with political leaders scheduled to meet H.E. President General Salva Kiir Mayardit, who will officially preside over the closing ceremony,” the statement partly read.
The Secretary General of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, attended the high-level consultative meeting alongside senior representatives of the party and leaders of participating political organisations, where they agreed to officially close on Monday, November 9.
“The SPLM, under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit, reiterates its steadfast and unwavering commitment to open and inclusive inter-party dialogue,” it continued.
The party firmly maintains that structured engagement among all national political stakeholders remains the bedrock for political consensus, democratic stability, and sustainable national unity.
According to SPLM, their active participation in this dialogue reflects its enduring liberation legacy and constitutional mandate to prioritise the collective interest of the South Sudanese people above all else.
As the parties prepare for the official closing ceremony on November 9, the SPLM remains fully dedicated to upholding the spirit of the dialogue’s resolutions and fostering a collaborative political environment geared toward peace, institutional reform, and democratic progress.
