Lobong assures stable security across Eastern Equatoria State

Eastern Equatoria State Governor Luis Lobong Lojore has on Wednesday assured the public that the overall security situation across Eastern Equatoria State remained stable and peaceful.

His statement comes after being hosted on Radio Miray Live show to speak to the public on the security situation in the state, his official engagements in Juba, and the recent visit to Nadapal.,

In a statement issued by the state press unit, Governor Lobong assured the public that the overall security situation across Eastern Equatoria State remained stable and peaceful.

He acknowledged the occurrence of isolated minor criminal incidents but emphasized they were being effectively managed by county authorities.

According to the statement, Lobong commended the County Commissioners for their vigilance and prompt responses to any security concerns, highlighting their role in maintaining law and order.

It further underlined the Governor had also shed light on his recent trip to Nadapal, where he joined his Kenyan counterpart from Lodwar County for a peace celebration involving the Ateker cluster.

He reiterated South Sudan’s firm position that Nadapal is not an international border point, stating that the actual border lies around the Mogila Mountain. He expressed concern over misinformation and intrusion allegedly fuelled by certain Kenyan politicians, urging for peaceful resolution and mutual respect for territorial boundaries.

In the statement regarding his recent visit to Juba, Governor Lobong explained that his mission was to lobby and seek funding support for key development projects in Eastern Equatoria State.

He disclosed that he held productive meetings with the Ambassadors of Ethiopia and China, to whom he presented strategic project proposals during courtesy visits to their respective embassies.

The statement underscored Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace, development, and strengthening bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the people of Eastern Equatoria State.
