The Chief Administrator of Abyei Special Administrative Area, Charles Abyei Jok, has met with top executives of Zain South Sudan to discuss plans for improving telecommunications infrastructure in the area.
During the meeting held at the Abyei Coordination Office in Juba on July 29th, 2025, the Zain South Sudan delegation led by Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Philippe Hanna presented both current and upcoming initiatives focused on enhancing service delivery and expanding connectivity across Abyei.
Mr. Hanna emphasized Zain’s dedication to sustainable development through reliable, innovative, and accessible digital services. “Our strategic interventions are designed to empower communities by strengthening digital communication systems,” said Hanna who was accompanied by Mr. Wilson Lado, the company’s Regulatory Affairs Director.
Chief Administrator, Charles Abyei lauded Zain’s commitment and affirmed the administration’s full support. He underscored the vital role of a stable telecommunications network in facilitating communication, thus stimulating economic growth and development throughout the region.
“A modern telecommunications system is fundamental to Abyei’s prosperity. We are ready to collaborate closely with Zain to transform this vision into reality,” said Charles Abyei.
He also advocated for sustained cooperation between Zain and the Abyei Administration, describing it as essential to delivering effective services that address the needs of local residents.
