South Sudan’s Deputy Minister of Information, Communication, Technology, and Postal Services, David Yau Yau, has affirmed his commitment to promoting peaceful relations and cooperation between the Pibor Administrative Area and Central Equatoria State.
David Yau Yau made the remarks during a visit to Central Equatoria State Governor Rabi Mujung Emmanuel’s office on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
During the meeting, the prominent Pibor leader congratulated Governor Mujung on his recent appointment and voiced confidence in the potential for strengthened collaboration between the two regions.
He emphasized the importance of fostering peaceful coexistence and collaboration between Pibor and Central Equatoria. “This visit is a gesture of goodwill and a reaffirmation of our commitment to building bridges between our communities,” he said.
The two leaders discussed strengthening intergovernmental relations, focusing particularly on peacebuilding efforts and coordinated development initiatives with both leaders underscoring the need for sustained dialogue and mutual engagement.
Governor Mujung welcomed the Deputy Minister’s visit, describing it as timely and constructive and emphasized the importance of open communication, mutual understanding, and proactive engagement between neighboring states and administrative areas.
“Peace and unity can only be achieved through inclusive, coordinated approaches,” Governor Mujung said, calling for joint efforts not only between Central Equatoria and Pibor but also with Jonglei State leadership.
The meeting is viewed as a constructive step toward building trust and advancing cooperation in a region historically affected by intercommunal tensions and underdeveloped infrastructure.
