The Traffic police in Yei River County has advised the Boda-Boda riders to acquire identification cards and motorcycle number plates for safety and accountability.
The head of Yei Traffic Police, Ruben Manyok, echoed the call, emphasizing that the lack of number plates makes it difficult to trace stolen motorcycles.
“I am appealing to all Boda- Boda riders to have number plates. Currently, there are many cases of motorcycle theft, and without proper identification, it becomes challenging for us to recover them,” he said.
Manyok also advised riders to avoid over speeding particularly during school hours to escape involvement in accidents.
In his part, the Yei River County Boda Boda Association chairperson, Emmanuel Duku Samuel has called on the members to acquire identity cards and number plates.
