Central Equatoria State Governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel joined worshippers at Emmanuel’s Parish in Juba, and delivered a strong call for collective action to strengthen peace and Unity.

While addressing worshippers on Sunday August 10, 2025, the governor echoed the message of President Salva Kiir Mayardit, stressing that “peace, security, and unity are fundamental human needs.

He appealed to residents from all ten States and the three Administrative Areas living in Central Equatoria to join hands in fostering stability.

“The government is doing its part to restore peace and security, but as good citizens, you should also do yours,” Mujung told the congregation, calling on parents to guide their children away from unlawful activities. He further highlighted the urgent need to coordinate efforts in addressing challenges posed by armed cattle herders in the State.

The governor condemned recent criminal incidents in Juba and other parts of the State, reaffirming the government’s commitment to tackling lawlessness.

He called on communities to engage holdout groups and encourage their participation in the national peace process, reminding citizens that the presidential amnesty remains in effect.

The service was led by His Grace Daniel Deng Bul, former Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of South Sudan, who delivered a sermon focused on reconciliation and the church’s role in peacebuilding.

“Peace is the only way to honor those who died for this country,” Deng said. “The church must continue to be a beacon of unity and healing,” he continued.

The visit reflects ongoing efforts by state leadership to engage directly with citizens in promoting harmony and countering insecurity, amid calls for more community-driven approaches to peace and stability.
