Parents and medics called on well-wishers and organizations to assist a 20-year-old woman who gave birth to triplets.
20-year-old Nyankot Ayuel Ayuel gave birth to triplets at Mayen Abun health facility last week.
The triplets consists of a girl and two boys.
Despite successful delivery with children in good health, the mother and medics called on the well-wishers and the organizations to support.
Alei Chan Riing, a mother to the young woman, claimed that her daughter can’t remember or identify the father of the triplets; hence, there is a need for urgent support.
She urged the members of the public, the government, and the organization to provide needs such as infant milk, clothes, and food for the mother.
“I am too weak financially to support these three children, as my daughter does not have knowledge of the father of the triplets. It would be great if NGOs and the government officials helped me with these gifts from God for my daughter,” Alei said.
She said she can’t manage to buy milk for triplets, citing financial difficulties as well as distance to the two.
On his part, Deng Daniel Mathiang, the clinical officer, said the triplets are healthy, and there is a need for support to cater to their basic needs, such as breastmilk substitutes.
“The children are okay, only that they need nutritious food. And all they need is good care, as they will be discharged two days after monitoring them,” Mathiang said.
He urged government officials and non-governmental organizations to extend supporting hands to the triplets.
The medical officer also urged the neighbors of the mother’s house to ensure close monitoring as well as support of the children.
Also, in 2021, a 30-year-old woman who gave birth to triplets in the Sherikhat suburb of Juba also appealed for support to help raise the newborns.
Mary Atong, the triplets’ mother, told media that she was thankful for the safe delivery and called on well-wishers to come to her aid, saying she is deprived.
