VP Bol directs CES, Road Minister to present urban road

The Vice President and chairperson of the Economic cluster, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel has tasked the leaders to present practical plan for Juba Road construction within a week.

According to a statement issued by the press unit, Mel’s remark comes after he advanced in a meeting with the National Minister of Roads and Bridges, Simon Mijok Mijak, and the Governor of Central Equatoria State, Rabi Majung Emmanuel this week.

The statement underscored Mel noted that in every thriving capital city, modern roads are the arteries of economic growth connecting businesses to markets, reducing transportation costs, attracting investment, and creating jobs and opportunities for all citizens.

It also underlined the Vice President reminded the leaders of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s directive to deliver infrastructure that truly works for the people.

The statement emphasized that Dr. Bol Mel has tasked them to present within one week a practical plan to ensure the project’s timely and successful execution, alongside clear measures for sustainable road maintenance so that citizens enjoy lasting benefits.

The statement also highlighted that South Sudan’s development journey is gaining momentum every road we build brings our people closer together, strengthens our economy, and lights the path to a brighter future for all.

“Every road we build, every project we deliver, is a fulfilment of the Government’s goal to create a South Sudan where every citizen can dream bigger and achieve more,” declared the Vice President.
