A swarm of bees has stung a 48-year-old man to death in Aweil East of Northern Bahr El Gazal state(NBGs).

According to the local sources on the ground, the incident occurred on Sunday at Parot village.

The sources reported that the incident occurred when the man who was trekking back to his home from Wanyjok town’s market got attacked by a swarm of bees.

Speaking to the media, Mayen Yai, one of the relatives of the deceased, said that several attempts were made to rescue him, but all went in vain.

He cited that after the incident the victim was taken to the hospital but still passed on due to the severity of the pain.

Yai described the situation as more tragic, as people were dumbfounded by the situation that unfolded all of a sudden.

“It was so surprising to lose an able-bodied person such as Uncle Alou Alou; nobody knew that he would befall such a mystery, such as dying through bees that stung him,” he said.

Mayen urged the public to remain vigilant, as some vegetation is inhabited by a lot of wild animals and insects.

He said this is the first time of its kind for such an incident to occur in the area.
