Chief Administrator engages chamber of commerce, vows to support businesses

The Chief Administrator of the Ruweng Administrative Area, Stephano Wieu de Mialek, on Sunday met with the Ruweng Chamber of Commerce and the Sudanese business community to discuss trade relations and strengthen cooperation.

According to the Ruweng Administrative Area press unit, the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration among Sudanese, Somali, and South Sudanese traders, addressing business challenges, and reinforcing the role of commerce in community development.

“The businessmen and women across Ruweng are making significant contributions to the lives of our people. The government is ready to resolve their concerns and promote their enterprises for the betterment of the entire area,” stated Stephano in a statement.

The meeting, held in Panrieng, brought together senior government officials including the Deputy Chief Administrator, the Security and Economic Advisors, the Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies, the Minister of Finance and Planning, the Director of Taxation, and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with traders from different counties across Ruweng.

The Chief Administrator reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for trade, pledging to work closely with stakeholders to improve service delivery, taxation systems, and security for business operations.

The press unit also highlighted the inclusive nature of the meeting, noting that traders from diverse backgrounds and counties were present, reflecting Ruweng’s commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence. “This meeting demonstrates our shared vision for economic growth and social harmony. We are grateful for the government’s openness and support,” said the Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce in a statement.

According to the press unit, the Chief Administrator assured that his administration will continue fostering cooperation between the government and the business sector to ensure economic growth and peaceful coexistence in Ruweng.

The Ruweng Administrative Area continues to position itself as a hub for inclusive commerce, with leadership emphasizing inter-agency coordination and community engagement as pillars of sustainable development.
