The Inspector of Police, Gen. Abraham Manyuat have yesterday expressed his commitment to deployment of well trained and sufficiently equipped police forces in Warrap State.
According to statement issued by the state press unit, the arrangement would bolster government presence and deter criminal activities.
“We know the problem and we are going to fix it.” Statement read.
The statement underscored the Inspector General of Police hinted that he aims to offer his support by providing communication systems, mobility, uniforms, speed boats and conduct refreshment training in wake of the ongoing disarmament exercise.
In the statement, the need for the deployment followed the Governor of Warrap State meeting with Gen. Manyuat Peter at his office in Buluk, to seek his support in terms of deployment of enough manpower to Warrap State.
The statement also stated the Governor asked the Gen. Manyuat to equip the forces and to assign competent investigators that would support prosecutors on the ground in enforcing the rule of law.
The statement underscored Governor Wek explained that individual’s resort to conflict whenever there was deprived access to Justice.
It stated that for peace to be permanent, a robust police force and a vibrant Judiciary were key in the state.
“The presence of police, investigators and judges across the State plus empowered Traditional Authorities will support; conflict resolutions, aid in disarmament and narrow possibilities of runaway theft and revenge killings” statement partly read.
The statement further stressed that the two leaders acknowledged that economic recovery and subsequent development would automatically take place in Warrap State once security is stabilised.
Additionally, they emphasized on their cooperation to secure Warrap State.
