The Executive Director of Lainya County in Central Equatoria State, Mr. Clement Suma, has succumbed to injuries.

This followed the recent accident on Lainy Yei Road.

According to the sources, the late Suma was in his early sixties, a vital time when he was helping the country, the state, and the country in all aspects.

The director died (succumbed to injuries) at Yei Civil Hospital, where he was on treatment awaiting transfer to Juba for specialized medical treatment.

Addressing the media, the Commissioner of Lainya County, Robert John Morris Lasu, confirmed the sad news.

He expressed deep sorrow, describing the late Suma as a devoted public servant who dedicated his life to the service of his community.

“The loss of Mr. Suma is a significant blow to the Lainya County administration and the community at large. His dedication and service to the county will be greatly missed,” the commissioner said in a condolence message issued by his office.

He extended heartfelt sympathies to the family, relatives, and colleagues of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort during what he described as a difficult time for the entire county.

Earlier reports indicated that Lainya County authorities, in coordination with Yei River County Commissioner Emmanuel Taban Seme, had been working to transfer Suma to Juba for advanced medical attention.

Family members of the deceased said they were distressed after observing his deteriorating condition at Yei Civil Hospital.

Earlier, the medical director of Yei Civil Hospital, Dr. Morbe, confirmed that Suma had been in critical condition and that doctors had recommended his urgent transfer to Juba for further treatment.
