The government of Central Equatoria and Jonglei States has concluded reinforcement ties through governance exchange initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration, unity, and mutual learning in governance between the two sisterly States.
In a statement issued by CES governor’s press unit, the initiative organized by Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, Governor of Central Equatoria State, at the request of Dr. Riak Gai Kok, Governor of Jonglei State, focused on skills exchange and experience sharing among the senior State officials.
Acording to the statement, the one-week induction was conducted with some Jonglei State government officials orienting them on the structure of State government operations, cabinet decision-making, cluster configurations, protocols, and the development of cabinet proposals.
Mujung commended the visiting delegation for their commitment and urged them to replicate the knowledge acquired in Juba within their institutions in Jonglei State.
“He further pledged continued support for similar inter-State engagements that promote good governance and service delivery” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the statement further emphasized that Paulino Lukudu Obede, Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria State, who supervised the program, expressed confidence in the Jonglei officials’ capacity to apply the lessons learned effectively.
Furthermore, it underlined that Lupai Satimon Andrew, Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Central Equatoria State, described the engagement as a “study tour” that reflects the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two States.
”This initiative is meant to strengthen our unity and deepen intergovernmental linkages” the statement read.
Additionally, it stressed that Kuony Yien Nyuon, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and head of the Jonglei State delegation, appreciated the warm reception by the Central Equatoria State Government and pledged to translate the lessons learned into improved service delivery.
Governance exchange initiative provides support for educational offers in the thematic areas of rural development, citizen participation, financial management, and peace and conflict mediation, thus enabling administrative staff to improve the provision of local services.
