KIIR : Sacks ISB/NSS DG, UoJ VC

South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has relieved and appointed a number of officials during the Thursday reshuffles.

All the changes were made through presidential decrees read out on the state-owned television, the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).

Kiir relieved General Chiech Mayor as the Director General of the Internal Security Bureau (ISB) of the National Security Service (NSS).

In replacement, the president promoted Mawien Mawien Ariik to the rank of general and appointed him as the Director General of the Internal Security Bureau (ISB) of the National Security Service (NSS).

In a separate decree, Kiir, who is the chancellor of all the public universities and other higher institutions of learning, relieved Prof. Robert Mayom, vice chancellor of the University of Juba (UoJ), and reappointed Professor John Akec.

The president also relieved John Kifa as the commissioner of the Financial Intelligence Unit.
Santino Matiop, the undersecretary in the Ministry of Mining, and John Woja of the Civil Aviation were also relieved from their positions.

Deng Makuok and Paul Dhel Gum were appointed as Undersecretaries in the Ministries of Mining and Transport respectively.
