 By James Innocent

The Commissioner of Yei River County Emmanuel Taban Seme and the residents in Yei have expressed deep sorrow over the death of Amos Juma Clement, a Senior Protocol Officer who served Yei River County and Central Equatoria State with dedication and professionalism.

In an official condolence message issued on Thursday, Commissioner Seme described the late Amos Juma Clement as a committed public servant who devoted many years of loyal service to government institutions and carried out his duties with diligence and integrity.

According to the statement, Amos Juma Clement passed away on Wednesday, 8 January 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m. His death has come as a shock to the county administration, colleagues, and the wider community of Yei River County.

“On behalf of the Government of Yei River County and on my own behalf, I extend my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the bereaved family during this sad and difficult time,” the Commissioner stated.

Seme also conveyed special condolences to the deceased’s colleagues, particularly the Protocol Department at the state level, noting that the loss of a senior and experienced officer has left a significant gap within the public service.

Medical staff on duty at Yei Civil Hospital indicated that the late officer was admitted in critical condition and was reportedly suffering from severe blood deficiency.

They added that despite efforts to save his life, he passed away shortly before oxygen support could be administered, a situation that left medical personnel and colleagues deeply distressed.

Hospital officials described the incident as unfortunate and said it had saddened many, given the deceased’s status as a dedicated government servant.

Commissioner Seme concluded by praying for God’s comfort and strength for the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Amos Juma Clement, and asked the Almighty to grant his soul eternal rest.
